Bacon-and-Roasted-Garlic-Guacamole-20

Kelly chose SRC – Bacon and Roasted Garlic Guacamole from Annie’s Noms. “Bacon, Roasted Garlic and Guacamole all together?!? There is no explanation necessary about why this is my favorite!”

Multiple Photos Frame(Non-Permanent)P

Mari chose Multiple Photos Frame (Non-Permanent) from With A Blast. “Wow this week was tough I had three favorites but I stuck to Linda’s Multi Photo Frame because I love to display my photographs everywhere! This was a great, quick and easy way to show off your favorite photos without having too much of a commitment such as nails and frames. You can always switch up the tape etc…loved it!!!”

Chicken and Dumplings2

Cathy chose Chicken and Dumplings in a Slow Cooker from My Turn For Us. “This chicken and dumplings dish is the perfect comfort food for a crisp, fall day! I love that this meal is packed with fresh goodness, prepared in the slow cooker and ready to enjoy after a busy day! I pinned this recipe for those days when slow cooker meals come in handy! “

REvealing-Abs-

Meghan chose Getting Back Into (or Keeping Up!) a Fitness Routine from 10 Years and Counting: A Weight Loss Journey. “I have been trying to get back into shape as well and I constantly make the excuse, “I just don’t have time.” She has some great ideas as well as some short workouts that will be really helpful as I set my fitness goals.”

Stacey chose Wax Paper Melted Crayon Art from Giggles Galore. “I absolutely remember making these, as a kid in school! They were really so colorful and so much fun. Rhonda chose 4 Ways to Ensure Your Child’s School Success from Lady Blogger. “With the all problems that we encounter in our school systems, it so refreshing to know there are teachers who care and who reach out to parents so they can help make our children’s school year a success.”

stop-doing-that-for-your-kids-

Rachel chose Stop Doing That For Your Kids from Your Modern Family. “With a busy lifestyle, the “because it is easier” is so tempting sometimes. Love her honestly and awesome reminder.”

Natasha also chose this post. “Great post! It may be because I was raised by stringent grandparents or that I am a single mom, but I am a stickler on my son cleaning up after himself and helping me around the house. I have even instituted Clean-Up Saturdays where we clean up the entire apartment. It’s great to encourage our kids to do for themselves – it’s definitely good for them!”

Bedtime Anxiety

Yolanda chose How To Deal With Bedtime Anxiety from Barbie Bieber and Beyond. “The reason I selected this one is because I am in the pass where I am fighting with my son to sleep in his own bed. I know we will have lots of different bedtime issues as he grows up, so it was nice to read an article that let me know that I am not alone!”

DSC07460-500x500

Tara chose Buffalo Hummus Dip from 3 Little Greenwoods. “Love hummus and especially love Franks Buffalo Wing Sauce, so when I saw this recipe it caught my eye! Can’t wait to try it! Also with Football in full swing, I think this would be the perfect dip to make for a football or tailgate party!”

writing tips

Jessica chose 5 Simple Tips for Squeezing Writing Into Your Everyday Life from Georgia Lee – Writing to the Sound of Legos Clacking. “I truly needed Georgie’s post! I am suffering from writer’s block due to an upcoming dissertation I need to write. Quite frankly, I am brain-dead! Ick!!! I love her suggestion, especially #1 – write something everyday. Honestly, this is good practice tha I need to enforce on myself with the dissertation writing AND to keep up with blogging. Thanks, again! 15 minutes a day of writing, here I come!!”

Jillian chose this post. “I chose this post because I am looking for ways to get more writing into my day. I just never seem to have time – but this post reminds me it isn’t about finding extended time, but a few minutes here and there would be just fine.”

IMG_2457

Meghan chose Mommy Moments, I Must Confess from Winks and Eyerolls. “I really loved reading this post. Even though it was only 10 months ago that my little girl was the same age as the poster, it feels like so long ago. I was able to relive every moment with her…and it made me want another little one!”

DSC_0567

Cathy chose Saving Memories from Life with Peanut. “Megan shares an amazing idea to help you capture and remember all of the little things that your kids do that as time passes you forget about. My kids are in elementary school and Megan’s idea is the perfect way for me to someday reveal to them the moments of their childhood! I am starting tomorrow! 🙂 Check out Megan’s blog to see exactly how she is saving memories!”

Tenns also chose this post. “I love this idea! This is such a creative way to keep track of memories. I’m not great at documenting things, because it’s so hard to keep up with how fast littles grow. I’ll definitely keep this idea in mind as I document memories and keep track of things with my son.”

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

April chose Great Learning Games for Preschoolers from Life’s Little Projects. “My two year old, Bee, has already conquered letters, numbers, colors and shapes, yet then I got stuck on what to teach her next. As this school year starts, I wanted to give her a lesson plan too, but what to do next? Well, Amie Jo had several answers to my problem to keep her moving forward. I’m starting to get excited about this new year.”

img_9652

Mari chose Chewy White Chocolate Chip Cranberry Cookies from Born to Bake Forever. “I chose Megan’s cookies because it married al I love. Chewy, white chocolate chip and cranberries.

dsc_0391chocolatechipcookiedoughfilledchocolatesandwichcookie2

The cookies sound like they are delectibly chocolatey and the filling sounds absolutley amazing! Thank you so much for sharing and I can’t wait to make these! Maybe a Halloween treat with the kids!”

IMG_7660

Natasha chose How to get your 4 year old to take a nap from Just a Touch of Crazy. “I love this post! Although my son is 3, it takes a wish and a prayer to get him to take a nap. He sleeps so easily at school, but when’s he home – it’s a whole different story. Leilani’s list is a perfect depiction of what I have to do for naptime and for bedtime. It’s a wonder I’m still sane!”

Here are the Featured posts from last week!

DIY-Jake-and-the-Neverland-Pirates-Costume

Yolanda chose DIY Jake and the Neverland Pirates Costume from Desert Chica. “I picked this post because I am NOT crafty but I LOVE dressing up. I really wish I was, and I really wish I knew how to sew. However, until I get better it, I still want my son to get to dress up and pretend. This post shows a super simple way to make a Jake costume! And I mean simple, with great pictures and easy instructions. Plus it’s upcycling–and I’m all about finding new uses for old things!”

back-to-school1

Kelly chose 3 Ingredient Fruit Leather from A Mom’s Take. “I love healthy snacks for the kids’ lunches and I love making our own so there are no mystery ingredients!”

Denise-300x216

Meghan chose What I wish I would have known about body image from Ripped Jeans & Bifocals. “I chose this one because it is something that I think every woman goes through, and sometimes during multiple periods in their life. I am currently having trouble with my body image (and in fact blogged about it last week). The most important thing is that we learn to love ourselves.”

Celebration-Lunchbox-IdeasCathy chose 5 Fun Celebration Lunch Ideas for Kids from A Mom’s Take. “Janel over at A Mom’s Take created these amazing celebration lunch ideas! My kids went back to school this week and I am always thinking of cool, creative but good for you lunches to pack and I will absolutely be giving Janel’s ideas a try!”

twix-cookies-recipe-6

Mila chose Twix Cookies Recipe from Living Frugal with Erika. “I am in love with everything that involves twix! This is fairly easy recipe and you can involve kids in the process of making these yummy cookies (just like Erika did). Have fun!”

reading quote

Becky chose Encouraging Your Early Readers from Blethering Boys. “I chose this because as a teacher and parent, these are fabulous tips!”

what i say vs

Mari chose What I say vs what I want to say from Just a Touch of Crazy. “I picked Leilani because I believe all parents and people in general struggle with what to say vs what we want to say. Some topics may be easier than others, even funnier than others but in the end the words we choose carry a lot of weight. I appreciated that Leilani was honest in stating she sometimes wants to resort to childish behavior at level of her kids, that sometimes though she may know better the choice is poor but that she accepts she is a work in progress and as time passes she will get better. I loved her humor and her honesty. It was relatable and fun read.”

wpid-imag3048

Stacey chose Yummy Homemade Graham Cracker S’mores from Mommy Crusader and Her Knights and Ladies. “We are a family that loves to make s’mores, in the summer time, over an open fire. However with winter fast approaching this would be a great winter treat that I know the kids would enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing!”

Extreme-Couponing

Jessica chose 10 Websites to Help You Become an Extreme Couponer from Krafty Cards etc. “I’ve always wanted to try this too. I’m in the same boat in which we have one grocery store that monopolizes the city. However, coupons are always cool! I look at it as free money. I’ll have to check out these websites just to see if there is another way around it in my city so I can save! save! save!”

DSC_00071-300x219

Chelsea chose Luscious Banana Pecan Cake with Caramel Frosting from Bunny’s Warm Oven. “This cake looked so yummy. It actually reminded me of Hummingbird cake, which is one of my favorites! I will definitely be giving this recipe a try!”

14839781538_6f27e60f8b_o

Rachel chose Oh Deer! String Art from Curly Crafty Mom. “I chose this post because I love the whimsy and am amazed at how detailed, yet simple this project is! I so want to create a string art project and this one is inspiring.”

TidbitsThursday-Time-Management

Tenns chose #TidbitsThursday Blogging Time Management from Tidbits of Experience. “As a wife, mother, and blogger, I’m always looking for ways to better manage my time. This is an excellent post, that is so detailed on how to manage not only time with blogging, but it with life in general. You can never have enough irons in the fire when trying to balance it all.”

5-Things-I-Dont-Do

Natasha chose 5 Things That I Don’t Do As a Parent! from Domain of the Mad Mommy. “I absolutely love this post! I do each and every one of these things with my son. He always looks at me like I’m crazy when I tell him no cookies while I’m stuffing my face. And he absolutely drives me nuts on a daily basis, but I love him to pieces!”

post3-300x300

The post with the most clicks is How to start saving money on groceries from A Fresh Start on a Budget.

Jillian also chose this post. “I chose this post because I am constantly looking for ways to save money with our food shopping. This post has some great tips and also links to some other great places to look for ideas.”

Things Women With Tattoos Know All Too Well…. from Sincerely Alaska

If you’re like me, then you have a special place in your heart for the art that is tattoos. It took me about a year to convince my parents to let me get one for my 18th birthday but once they agreed I was on a mini-roadtrip with one of my best friends. It was a scary moment for me to have my first one done…especially since I started off with a big calf piece.

A Frozen Birthday Morning Surprise from The Organized Dream

Birthdaymorningblog1

If you read my Tour Through Blogland post, then you know that I wanted to create a Frozen themed winter birthday breakfast for my daughter. It is the first year her birthday falls on a school day and I wanted her to feel super special from the moment she woke up. I went with the Frozen theme because she has loved the movie since she had seen it in theaters. I thought it would be a great theme since it was a sweltering 90 degrees that day! Warm hugs are fine, but a Winter’s touch was better at this point!

I have several items on my bucket list. One that I decided on after S was born was to take her to visit all 50 states before she graduates from high school. That does not mean driving through a state. It means actually exploring the state…visiting museums, state parks, tourist attractions, etc. I believe that exposing S to different experiences, activities and travel is very important.

Sous Chef Sunday: Fast & Easy Refrigerator Pickles from 4 Sons ‘R’ Us

easy-fridge-pickles

The sons have a love hate relationship with pickles. They either love them, or hate them. They’re firmly, and equally, entrenched on their sides with two for and two against. The hubs and I bolster each side with him against their salty, briny taste and me all for it! I’ve always got a family size jar in the fridge just for when one of us needs a pickled fix. Then I got a deal this summer from our local farmers market that resulted in us getting several pounds of free cucumbers. I couldn’t let those beauties go to waste, but wasn’t looking for anything in-depth that involved pectin and canning.

This looked like the perfect Just-Because-I’m-a-Mom treat, forget the kids! Only thing I would change is to keep the Oreo filling! That’s the best part! But, I can’t wait to try these yummy snacks!”

Katy chose 7ish Things You Should Know About Twins from Mommie and Wee. “As a mama to twins myself, I can relate to several of these! As a tall woman who loves her milk, I guess I set myself up for the crazy. 🙂 In all seriousness, I get asked a lot of questions about my twins because they are such polar opposites. Not only do they look absolutely nothing alike, but their personalities and strengths are completely different. And it looks like one of my little men is going to be a lefty! It’s always nice to connect with other twin mamas, because there is nothing quite like having two little ones running about. It really takes one to know one. “

Victoria chose Selfish Mom Moments from Working Mom Magic. “I chose Selfish Mom Moments because I can totally relate. As a mom of three small boys, I try to be as unselfish as possible. However, sometimes moms need some times to themselves.”

Stacey chose To the Cashier Who Called My Child Naughty from Organized Chaos. “I find it sad that, somewhere along the line we have lost the teachings to treat others as you would like to be treated! To cause a little one to question himself and whether or not he is “naughty” or not, just by making a thoughtless and uncaring comment is not acceptable. Thanks for sharing!”

things-people-say

Natasha chose When Sleep Goes Awry from Just A Touch of Crazy. “Great post…and so true! I don’t know the last time that I had a full, uninterrupted sleep – probably right before I found out I was pregnant lol. If my son sleeps in his bed, it’s not all night – he ends up in my bed at some point. Which means I wake up and see him standing next to my bed. Or wake up because I’m kicked or slapped in the middle of the night. Or wake up because he’s snoring next to me. Either way, I don’t sleep. And I’ve somewhat gotten used to it.”

5-Summer-Lunchboxes-001

Natasha also chose 5 Creative Lunchbox Ideas from A Mom’s Take. “With my son only being 3, I have to be ever so creative with his lunchbox options. He just likes what he likes, and unless I am relatively creative, he probably won’t try it. Thanks for sharing some great creative lunchbox ideas!”
