Sunday Meal Plan – Week 8

Happy Sunday, friends!

This might be really weird to say, but I’m really looking forward to the start of the week. Believe it or not, the past month has flown by and our move is only 4 days away, the start of the week means Friday (and our move) is that much closer. I cannot wait!

Our weekend was busy busy busy, all day Saturday was spent back, and thankfully we got a lot done. Most of what is left, is odds and ends, clothes and our food. All stuff that should be fairly easy to throw into boxes Thursday night, or Friday morning. Honestly, I could probably pick 4 outfits out for the week, for myself and Emmett and throw the rest into our suitcases. I can’t wait for this move to be over, I could use a lazy weekend.

Today was spent helping the buyers of our armoire move it to their home, buying an adorable new outfit for Emmett from Carter’s (everything is 50% off right now), going out to lunch (with the money from our sale of the armoire), grocery shopping, visiting with my parents who were in Niagara Falls for the weekend and stopped here for a visit on their way home, making homemade bread and soup, and finally some packing. Yikes! Sounds like a busy day, right!? It was! Though, I don’t mind busy days like this.

The only negative point of this week was my sciatica / back pain / leg pain flared up big time last night. Probably from all the bending up and down yesterday while we packed, but I’m trying to not do anything that puts any unneeded stress on my lower back. I’ve worn my sneakers all day today, which really seems to be helping. I am beyond sick of this pain, it has brought me to tears on many occasions over the last 2 weeks and I am just so angry with myself for letting myself get to this point.

And now my Sunday Meal Plan

Sunday: Wegmans Kale & Mushroom Soup, Homemade gluten-free bread

Monday: Burgers on the grill & fries

Tuesday: Steak with Chickpea, Tomato and Feta Salad (This recipe was so amazing last week, that we’re making it again this week)

Wednesday: Chicken Tacos w/ Fresh Veggies

Thursday: Scrounge Around House (night before we move)

Friday: Moving day – We will likely have to grab something out since everything will still be in boxes

Saturday: Homemade Gluten-Free Pizza

Looks like a pretty good meal plan to me, let’s get the week started!

As usual, I’m linking up with Laura from Mommy Run Fast and Jill from Jill Conyers.

Your turn!

What’s on your meal plan for the week?

If you’ve moved, do you typically eat out on the actual move day, or do you find food around the house?

Baby Book

When we first brought Emmett home from the hospital, we realized that we didn’t have some of the things that would be most helpful for a 4 day old baby so Seamus went out to buy what we needed. One of his stops was at Target, where he found THE most perfect memory book for Emmett. It’s a “just one you” brand by Carter’s, here’s a similar version since they don’t seem to be making the monkey one any longer but I did find the same version on Amazon.

baby-bookIn keeping up with this blog and other life events, I just haven’t had the time to fill out the baby book. Obviously I don’t want to forget any little detail because I’d love to eventually have it completed for E baby, so I’m going to use the different “fill in the blank” sections as prompts for some blog posts. Then I can always print out the post and paste it in his book when I find time and I won’t have forgotten anything.

The Day of Our Engagement

The Day of Our Engagement

The very first prompt is, “all about mommy and daddy,” “how mommy and daddy met.” Well my sweet boy, your momma and daddy met in a rather nontraditional way, we met through Match.com. Momma had joined for only a month, to see who was online with maybe the possibility of a few dates but nothing serious happened in the first 30 days. The day AFTER my membership ended I received an email from someone, who in his pictures was handsome and whose profile was interesting, so I rejoined for another month so that I could see his full email and get his contact information. Your dad and I emailed back and forth for a couple of weeks and spoke on the phone to get to know one another and eventually met in person. We were both pretty smitten with one another right off the bat and spent a lot of our first date talking and flirting.  Momma spent a good chunk of the date talking about which vegetables she likes cooked and which vegetables she likes uncooked. Super exciting, right!? 😉 Your dad still picks on me about it to this day but it’s all good natured fun.

I really enjoy telling the story of how we met, so when you’re older I’ll tell it to you in more detail.
