A Mini-Vacation & Meal Plan

Hi Readers!! Did you miss me? I decided to take a week off from blogging this past week.

I didn’t start the week with the intention of taking a vacation, but after being sick last weekend  and in the beginning of this week, I figured it would do my body some good to just take a break from one area. I’m super happy to be back, though! I missed you all and I missed writing, but vacations keep you fresh and relaxed. I’ve had lots of ideas brewing, which will be shared right here on this very blog.

Return-from-Vacation

So what have I been up to?

Last week, on Thursday I got a call from day care that Emmett had a slight fever, I immediately left work to get him and bring him home to rest. By the time we got home his fever was up to 104, so it was Tylenol and rest for him. By Saturday afternoon, he was feeling better, but I was feeling really lethargic. I didn’t think much of it because I knew I had worked hard all week and could just be tired.

I decided to nap when Emmett did on Saturday afternoon. By the time, we woke up, I had a fever. I could tell right away! I was achy and sweating like crazy. I took my temp and it was at 104.4, which is super high for an adult. I felt like crud all weekend, obviously taking it pretty easy, resting and sleeping mostly. Now, you understand why I didn’t write at all last weekend.

I was still a little sick on Monday, and the rest of the week was kind of a blur of being tired and feeling overworked. I needed a break from something, and I chose my blog. I don’t feel guilty, I really do think, you need a break from things from time to time. It keeps you from burning out!

This weekend hasn’t been too bad, but not great either. I came home from work yesterday with a splitting headache and went to sleep as soon as Emmett was in bed. Today, I woke up feeling better, but my head still had a dull ache. I wanted to get out of the house, but as soon we we did, I started getting the aura that signifies I’m getting a migraine. Ugh! There went our Saturday, I ended up sleeping most of it away.

I’m feeling much better now and I’m REALLY hoping for a good Sunday, with LOADS of productivity!! To get it started on the right foot, I’ve already made our meal plan and our shopping list.

Sunday Meal Plan

Sunday: Steak, chick peas & tomato salad

Monday: Leftover Pork Fried Rice (well the pork is leftover, we’re going to make the fried rice)

Tuesday: Hot dogs & French Fries

Wednesday: Marinated Chicken & Zucchini

Thursday: Mexican Pizzas

Friday:  Chili & Corn Bread

Saturday: Scrounge Around House

Nothing fancy, but I’m looking forward to it!

Also, I’m REALLY happy to be back from my “vacation” and happy to share everything I’ve been brainstorming about.

As usual I’m linking up with Laura from Mommy, Run Fast! and Jill from jillconyers.com, check them out and link-up!

I am definitely feeling the need for a break. A solid week away from social media, iPhones, and all technology. It is so productive to step away for a bit.

Hi Tara!! Thanks so much for visiting. 🙂 I’m really quite giddy that you stopped by my little corner of the world. 🙂 I agree, though…taking a break is so important otherwise you just burn out.
