Happy Colorful Monday!
Weekly Wishes is a link-up started by Melyssa from The Nectar Collective. It is a place where you can post and share you wishes and goals for the week ahead on your blog, Facebook page, Twitter account, etc and then link it up on Melyssa’s blog. I LOVE doing this because it holds me accountable for the week ahead. I’ve shared my goals with the world (through my blog) and I know people will read and wonder whether I stuck to my goals. It definitely keeps me honest!
We had such an awesome weekend in our household. It started on Friday, with getting our tree (you can read about it here), and continued on with loads of family time throughout each day. It’s no secret that I love my family, but weekends like this really hammer home how amazing they are. I spent 10 minutes Sunday afternoon, just staring at Emmett and Seamus on the couch. I just love watching them interact, it’s the most adorable thing and I realize how perfect my life is. I realize that I have everything in my life that I have ever wanted, a man who loves me for me, and a son who is literally my world. It truly was an amazing weekend!
Saturday started the way it normally does, with milk and cuddles in bed, this time is just so precious to me. We eventually got up and out of bed and made breakfast, just some eggs, toast and some sort of fruit, oh and I had a large cup of coffee. We played for awhile, and once Bob the Builder came on at 8:30 we sat down to watch that. Seamus went to the gym, and Emmett and I stayed home to play some more. I love watching him interact with his toys, he may not use them in the conventional manner, but either way he is exploring and growing his brain. While Emmett was napping, Seamus and I watched some TV and I did some blog stuff behind the scenes. In the evening we took a ride out to el Canelo for dinner, it was delicious and Emmett was very well behaved.
Sunday, started much the same way as Saturday, only difference was that after cuddles and breakfast we showered and headed out to Trader Joe’s and Wegmans for grocery shopping. It was great to get out there early because we were able to avoid most of the crowds. We got a few new finds at TJs, not all of them good, but most of them were, I’ll definitely share soon. The rest of the day was spent watching a very disappointing Bills game, doing laundry and cuddling with my boy. Perfection!
This week’s Weekly Wishes theme is “colorful.” I’m in love with my Christmas tree and it isn’t very colorful because I prefer white lights, but technically white IS a color and I just love the tree so so much! So there’s my justification. 🙂
And now… Weekly Wishes!
Last week, I wanted do a couple loads of laundry throughout the week. Success!! I did two loads during the week, and three loads yesterday. It was nice to have only 3 to do and not 7. Woohoo!
Next up was to move 3 times. A half success, I did yoga once and went for a walk once. I just fell short of my goal, so I’m not completely disappointed with this outcome.
Finally, I wanted to check 2 more people off of my Christmas shopping list. I did not complete this one, sadly. I had so much else going on, and the week past by in a whirlwind, that Christmas stuff just fell to the wayside. However, time is running short, so I need to STEP IT UP!
Here are this week’s wishes:
- Put in some hardcore work on my Christmas shopping. I’d love to be nearly finished by the time next Monday roles around.
- Take some time to read a few self-help books. More to come on this topic, but there are 2 or 3 books that I would really like to sit down and put a dent in, before the holiday.
- Work on an editorial calendar for Baby Doodah! I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants with this here blog for well over a year. It’s time to sit down, and start planning posts ahead of time, so I know what is due when. That way, I’m not clamoring at 9 o’clock at night to get my post written and posted before I fall asleep on the couch.
