Happy Monday! Time for this week’s Weekly Wishes – Selfie!
Weekly Wishes is a link-up started by Melyssa from The Nectar Collective. It is a place where you can post and share you wishes and goals for the week ahead on your blog, Facebook page, Twitter account, etc and then link it up on Melyssa’s blog. I LOVE doing this because it holds me accountable for the week ahead. I’ve shared my goals with the world (through my blog) and I know people will read and wonder whether I stuck to my goals. It definitely keeps me honest!
Here I am again, awake super early on a Monday morning. My vacation is over and it’s time to go back to work after a pretty awesome week at home, with my two awesome dudes.
We had a really fantastic weekend! I ended up going down to visit my parents on Saturday, my mom and I took a ride out to this indoor craft show in Westfield, NY, called The Cross Roads Market. I was hoping to find some Christmas decorations to start getting things ready for that season, but there wasn’t much. Most people still had their Fall / Halloween stuff out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to rush the holidays, I’m the last person that would do that, but I just thought there would be more of a Christmas selection. Oh well! I did get some yummy Peanut Butter and Chocolate fudge from Fudge n Stuff, and learned something new from the stores owner, you should never put fudge in the refrigerator because it just gets dried out. I had NO idea! I think I’ve always put any fudge I’ve purchased directly into the fridge the second I got home, thinking it would keep it fresh. Wrong! Wendy recommended placing the fudge in a air-proof container and leaving directly on your counter. So far, so good, it’s some darn good fudge.
Sunday was a perfectly wonderful day at home. Emmett and I went grocery shopping early(ish) thinking we’d avoid the crowds but no such luck, it was packed at Wegmans. My theory is that people were trying to get everything done before the Bills game at 1 (where the Bills lost). Next time, I need to pay better attention to the Bills schedule before heading to the store. The rest of the day was spent, prepping food for the week, doing laundry, cleaning, and LOADS of family time. We gave Seamus’ parents a call after dinner and Emmett was being such a goofball, he just wouldn’t sit still, bouncing from one couch to another with a book, then a toy, then a book again. He was cracking us all up. I love that little Doodah!
This week’s Weekly Wishes theme is Selfie, Melyssa wants to see our faces. 🙂 Honestly, I don’t take a lot (none, really) of selfies so I had to go with the best I had, an up close picture of myself with Emmett. I think when you become a mommy, your pictures are no longer of just you, but of you and your babe. I’m alright with this! 😀
Time for my Weekly Wishes – Selfie!
My first goal from last week was to continue washing 1 load of laundry a night. Success! I am absolutely loving this goal, because it makes Sundays much more enjoyable. I’ve been doing a load every other night so that on Sundays I maybe have 3 to do, which consist of the towels, sheets and other items that aren’t clothes, instead of my previous 7 or 8.
Next up, was making a home “to do” list. This was also a success, but it’s not complete so I’m not ready to share. Once it’s totally done, I want to write a post on how I came up with everything and how I’m going to break it down into manageable steps.
I also said I’d workout at least 4 times. I did it, but it definitely wasn’t the high intensity that I need. I had one hard core workout and the rest were just walks. I shouldn’t complain, but I really need to remind myself of how great I felt after my workout on Monday, where I was sweating like a pig.
Finally, I set a goal to participate more in Everyday Happy. Sadly I failed on this one. I don’t think I even opened the website and I don’t even have a good reason why. I had plenty of time and the course is helping me, I just didn’t do it. Ugh!
This week’s goals:
- Finish my home “to do” list and get to work on it and the blog post that comes with it.
- Dive fully into Everyday Happy. I have so little downtime, that if I work on the class, I may have less blog posts, but I need to be alright with that. In the end, the class will benefit me AND the blog.
- Wash a load of laundry each night. This has been going great and has made my weekends more enjoyable so I’m going to stick with it.
- Workout. I need to do some hard workouts. Workouts where I’m really dripping sweat, at least 4 times.
- Finally, go through my blog drafts and complete some of them. I have about 10 drafts (maybe more) started and just sitting there. I need to go through and finish them and get them posted. Most are really great ideas, they just need to be worked on.
Well, this week’s goals turned out to be similar to last week’s, but I’m alright with that. They were good goals and when completed will leave me feeling accomplished and more relaxed with life overall.
Those are my wishes for the week, be sure to visit Melyssa and link-up!
